Meet Bess Littlefield

Bess Littlefield has over thirty years’ professional experience in higher education advancement. She currently serves as Vice President of Institutional Advancement and chief strategy officer for Reynolds Community College where she is responsible for fund raising, grants, legislative advocacy, communications, marketing, institutional research and strategic planning. At Reynolds, Bess has led two capital campaigns and the college has obtained over $75 million in gifts and grants. Prior to Reynolds, she worked in alumni relations at George Mason University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the College of William and Mary. As a consultant, Bess has conducted development assessments, feasibility studies and led strategic planning workshops. In 2016, Bess received the Nina Abady Award from the Virginia Association of Fundraising Executives. She earned her Master of Education from the University of Virginia, her Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary and an Institute in Philanthropy Certificate from the University of Richmond. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards and currently chairs the Virginia Public Media Community Advisory Board. She also served on the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education Community College Advisory Committee.

Meet Bob Bragg

Bob Bragg is a highly accomplished development professional with thirty years of experience serving programs in higher education, medical research, engineering education, athletics, and the arts. His experience includes service to Virginia Tech, West Virginia University, Florida State University, East Carolina University, University of Virginia’s College at Wise, and the William King Museum of Art. The scope of his work includes program management in fundraising, alumni affairs, public relations, marketing, grants, and foundation management. During his career, Bob directed annual fund programs for four universities, raising millions of dollars for academic programs and increasing the donor base at every institution. While at West Virginia University, he led two campaigns raising $180 million for the Benjamin Statler College of Engineering and the Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute. Bob earned his Master of Arts in Government and his M.B.A. from the College of William and Mary, and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Virginia Tech. As COO of the UVA-Wise Foundation, he served as a member of the Virginia Council of Foundation Presidents.

Meet Tim McDermott

Tim McDermott is an experienced fundraiser with nearly 40 years of professional development experience. He has served public and private institutions of higher education, academic medical centers, and non-profits. He has ten years of consulting experience serving over 24 non-profit organizations. His fundraising expertise includes service to Feed More, Virginia Wesleyan University, Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Duke University, and Virginia Tech. As Feed More’s Chief Development Officer, Tim directed their successful $19.5 million comprehensive campaign, led the Development Office’s effort to raise $62 million in operating funds over six years, and was a founding member of Feeding America’s Network Fundraising Services Advisory Council. He received his Master of Public Administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from Virginia Tech. He is a member of the VCU Health Board of Directors and serves as Chair of the Board for Downtown Ashland Association.
